Mental Health Technician (MHT)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our team at Coral Shores Behavioral Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to patients with mental health needs, including assistance with daily living activities and medication management.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatment plans and interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of previous experience in a healthcare setting and/or previous behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Must complete and maintain training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
  • Must pass competency exams within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit or walk during work shift.
  • Able to hear spoken words in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes or other displays.
  • Able to bend, reach and stoop.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs.
