Job Summary:The Automotive Assembly Fixture Designer is responsible for designing and developing assembly fixtures for automotive manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in fixture design, with proficiency in either CATIA or NX. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure the effective and efficient design of fixtures that meet stringent automotive industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop assembly fixtures and tooling for automotive components and systems using CATIA or NX software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure fixture designs meet all technical and quality requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and tolerance analysis to ensure fixture designs are robust and manufacturable.
  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for fixture designs.
  • Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.
  • Support the prototyping and testing of fixtures, including troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues.
  • Maintain and update design documentation and records in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fixture design technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive assembly fixture design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, specifically CATIA or NX.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and quality requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for fixture design.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
