Job Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to assist management to ensure an unqualified opinion on the respective financial audits. He or She is responsible for assisting in safeguarding the assets of the Institute through account analysis and regular monitoring of financial transactions. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the financial transactions in assigned general ledger accounts are recorded in the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role also works with other staff to assist in their understanding of accounting principles and practices in general ledger accounts assigned to the staff accountant.

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of financial software and revenue recognition process. Ensure that all financial modules are meeting revenue recognition process for the organization. Collaborates with IT and finance staff to meet business requirements; may be responsible for end user training. Ensures that consistent practices are used throughout the company to maintain the integrity of the systems. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

This position typically reports to a manager or a Supervisor of Accounting and manages 0 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or a related field with solid month-end closing experience.
  • A typing rate of AT LEAST 40 words per minute.
  • Expert in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • QuickBooks Online Experience.
  • Sales Force Experience.
  • Strong multitasking ability.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Efficient problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
