Job Description: As a Freight Elevator Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating freight elevators to transport items and people within our facility. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the movement of items between different floors and ensuring timely delivery to designated areas.

This is a straight forward role with minimum responsibility, you will be operating a freight elevator. We are a large real estate company with numerous growth opportunities within the company for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate freight elevators to transport goods, materials, and equipment between floors within the facility.
  • Ensuring proper positioning and securement on the elevator.
  • Inspect elevator equipment and controls for proper functioning before each use and report any issues or malfunctions to maintenance staff.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the elevator and surrounding areas, including removing debris and spills as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate elevator usage and prioritize deliveries.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties within the facility as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating freight elevators or similar industrial equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of elevator operation and safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
