Ocean Export Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ocean Export Coordinator to join our growing freight forwarding company. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the export process for our clients, ensuring their cargo gets delivered efficiently and cost-effectively across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of ocean export shipments, from initial booking with carriers to final delivery at the destination port.
  • Prepare and process essential shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure all export documentation meets international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, customs officials, carriers, and other stakeholders to keep everyone informed of shipment progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates and booking arrangements with ocean carriers.
  • Track shipments in real-time, providing clients with timely status updates.
  • Assist with customs clearance procedures to ensure smooth cargo release.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment records.
  • Prepare and issue invoices for freight charges and other associated costs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in ocean export freight forwarding or a related logistics field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs clearance procedures.
  • Proficient in freight forwarding software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages a plus).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
