ASSISTANT FOOD PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Location:

  • Rhode Island Food Factory - 263 Jenckes Hill Rd, Lincoln, RI 02865 | Shift starting 5:00am, 1 weekend working weekly.


Responsibilities

As the Assistant Food Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure the production process is running smoothly and efficiently, supervising various department Team Leaders including, Production, and Quality Assurance. This will include optimizing production with a lean mindset, productivity, maximizing yield, accurate reporting and ensuring the highest quality for our customers.

  • Ensure all standard operating and sanitation procedures are followed in the production activities.
  • Supervise everyday production schedules and assist in resolving all issues.
  • Monitor production output and quality, making necessary adjustments to the process and equipment as needed.
  • Supervise and perform equipment assembling, disassembling, and cleaning.
  • Assigning specific tasks to individual employees and ensuring that they are performing their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all food safety and food quality standards are met.
  • Conduct daily production planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels and left over material quantities.
  • Provide hands on experience in day-to-day operations.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports on production levels, employee performance, and other relevant data to upper management
  • Other Ad Hoc Duties as required to ensure the business runs smoothly.


Qualifications:

  • Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience in a food processing facility.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP plant experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Continues Improvement processes (LEAN manufacturing, 6 Sigma).
  • Knowledge of MS Office, & Excel.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated, cold refrigerated climate.
