Program Assistant

What you’ll be doing

The Program Assistant is a professional class responsible for performing a variety of assignments involving public contact work responsible for administering, monitoring, an/or implementing a program, process or functional area specific to the area of assignment.

You will be responsible for

  • Prepares performance appraisals, correspondence, office procedures, work orders, purchase order, manuals, reports, surveys, flyers, packet, agendas and minutes.
  • Communicates with management, public, vendors and contractors responding to questions.
  • Explain and interpret information related to the program.
  • Exercise independent judgement in the disposition of routine matters.
  • Supervise clerical personnel.
  • Performs related duties as required.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Considerable (3 - 5 years) experience in a responsible clerical or paraprofessional capacity, including public contact work.
  • Supplemental coursework or training in office management, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with personal computer (PC) software applications (ex. word processing, spreadsheets, data manager) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Class D Arizona Driver’s License.
