About this Job:
The Onsite Technical Project Manager is an integral part of our special events team and provides management of projects for premier events across North America. The Onsite Technical Project Manager will plan and coordinate these exciting events and can be home based anywhere in the United States but must be willing to travel extensively, up to 70%, and be away for extended periods of time.
Desired Skills:
- 4+ years of technical delivery, industry and leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of managing large technical projects
- Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team
- Proficient in managing time and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Experience working with technologies such as data networks, Wi-Fi, VoIP systems is a plus
- Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time, 70% or between 175-200 days of travel per year.
- A strong will to win and drive results, with a proven ability to overcome internal and external barriers to achieve results in a dynamic and demanding work environment.
- High levels of energy, engagement, and ownership. Positive attitude is an absolute must.
- Time management, organizational skills, and critical thinking
- PMP or similar certification is preferred.
Your key responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget to meet customer expectations.
- Break down the project into manageable tasks and sub-tasks, establishing a detailed timeline with specific milestones to track progress
- Supervision and management of large teams for assigned projects.
- Assist with the identification of resources required to fulfill the job
- Provide clear direction and set expectations for the team, ensuring that team members have the necessary resources and support to complete the tasks
- Plan, organize and direct activities during the installation, support during the event, and teardown of jobs
- Act as the escalation point for any and all changes associated with projects. This includes mitigation of issues and facilitation of operational changes to support project efficiency.
- Must be willing to go above and beyond the normal day duties when the need calls for it, sometimes working long hours in inclement weather and getting your hands dirty while working inside of a team as a leader to facilitate successful team delivery.
- Coordinate all onsite logistics and construction timelines, documenting and reporting on project milestones.
- Travel to events for setup and support; attend onsite vendor meetings and participates in conference calls.
