Local Non-profit in Tulsa is seeking qualified candidates interested in working with students in middle school and high school during out of school time. Hours are in the afternoons, Mon-Thurs from 3-6:30pm and Friday from 2-6pm for middle school and Mon-Thurs from 3-6pm for high school

We are seeking staff who can fill these roles for the upcoming school year:

·      Visual and Performing Arts Specialist

·      Academic Specialist

·      Recreation/Sports Specialist

Visual and Performing Arts Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated staff person who loves the Arts in the Afterschool space to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the arts environment and a commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression in students.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be able to perform the following responsibilities and have the following skills and qualifications:

Responsibilities:

·      Develop and implement visual arts and performing arts curriculum that correlates to educational standards and is engaging to students

·      Work with groups of students in various methods, techniques, mediums and styles

·      Organize and supervise projects, performances and exhibitions

·      Encourage students to explore their creativity and express themselves through art

·      Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art across different subject areas

Qualifications:

·      Experience working with groups of students in an educational or camp setting

·      Strong communication skills to effectively work with students and staff

 

Academic Enrichment Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and experienced person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing students in our middle school afterschool program. This role involves working with students, inspiring them to learn and to become proficient in the areas of literacy and math through the delivery of enrichment activities and while creating a supportive and enriching learning environment.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be able to perform the following responsibilities and have the following skills and qualifications:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging activities and lessons tailored to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess students’ reading levels and progress, providing individualized support as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages a love for learning.
  • Collaborate with others to support students' academic development.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and program effectiveness.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Teaching Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in an educational setting or camp setting, preferably in the area of academic enrichment instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of math and literacy development and instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

 

Recreation Specialist

Seeking an individual who loves to move and stay active while encouraging youth to be active as well. The ideal candidate will be able to encourage all students to increase their movement. This person will be able to lead games, sports, and other recreational activities.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be able to perform the following responsibilities and have the following skills and qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging activities and lessons tailored to the needs of diverse learners that will promote healthy lifestyles through movement.

§  Able to lead a wide range of recreation and sports activities where students can thrive.

§  Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel safe to participate.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience working with youth in an group setting or camp setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

·       Candidates must be able to do the following to be considered:
- Able to work the hours listed in this ad post
- Have own reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide 3 previous work references
- Must be energetic, relatable, dedicated, and reliable to both the organization and the students we serve

Pay Structure:
 Must have a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience to be considered for the rates of $19-$22 per hour.
