Position Overview:

The role involves delivering academic assistance and services, cultural enrichment, scholarship resources, and facilitating participation in tribal events. Academic resource advisors play a crucial role in enhancing family involvement and serve as a cultural conduit, integrating tribal heritage into the educational framework. They provide insights into Native experiences and perspectives for both students and staff, ensuring that all learners have the chance to thrive in their educational pursuits. This position is responsible for addressing the academic, cultural, and resource requirements of Native American students to promote their academic success.

Essential Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in education, social work, counseling, community-based or tribal programs, or a related discipline
Experience:
  • Proven experience collaborating with tribes or engaging with Native American culture and communities
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain an Oklahoma State Teacher Certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
