Job DescriptionJob Description

Our real estate client is seeking a Property Accountant. You will handle a range of responsibilities from daily transaction processing to the analysis of financial statements. This role requires a solid understanding of both accrual and tax basis accounting, as well as proficiency with Windows-based computer software. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.  Expected starting base salary $40 to $45 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and input recurring and non-recurring journal entries for both accrual and tax books.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and tax basis.

  • Review daily cash receipts.

  • Maintain the aging schedule.

  • Review invoices, including vendor coding, approval verification, and budgetary review.

  • Initiate daily and monthly check runs and input related data.

  • Assemble monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and cash flow statements.

Requirements:  

  • Fundamental understanding of tax and accrual basis accounting.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Excellent work ethic.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business.
