Job DescriptionJob Description

Engineered Concepts Inc. is looking for Construction Inspectors to inspect water main, services, valve installation within municipal roadways and easements projects in CT., MA. & N.H. Experience with pump stations and treatment plants are a plus. Projects may require traveling.

On site paid job training provided once hired.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Conduct and document field observations for construction and rehabilitation of roadways, water main, sanitary sewer and storm water collections systems, and underground utilities. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and related codes and standards. Ensure installed work conforms to design documents, approved submittals, regional standards, local codes and best construction practices. Identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Communicate deficiencies to proper persons.

2. Ability to communicate and coordinate with construction contractors, municipal and private property owners in a cooperative, productive manner while serving the best interest of the client. Discuss plans, specifications and work schedules with project manager and engineers, contractors, utility companies and other governmental agencies. Communicate and enforce construction quality standards.

3. Perform all functions of the position in a safe and conscientious manner. Follows company safety policies and procedures. Wears and works in proper personal protective equipment.

4. Take measurements of completed work for payment and swing ties for record plans.

5. Provide insight on field design changes and payment claims for additional work.

6. Coordinate with client representatives, utilities companies, State DOT, and adjacent residents to update progress and minimize disruption to existing infrastructure (unities and roads).

Requirements:

At Least 5 Years of previous experience in horizontal construction observation or management preferred but not required.

Experience in survey, design or municipal work is a plus.

Must have a working fluency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Must have or have the capability of acquiring OSHA-10 and Confined Space Entry at a minimum.

Hazwopper Certificate and AC Pipe Abatement experience a plus.

Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is a must.

Compensation - $28.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience. May include up to $3,000.00 a month in per diem.
