Resident Engineer

City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to manage and oversee various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed successfully.
- Review and approve change orders, shop drawings, and other construction-related documents.
- Provide oversight of contractors to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Review and research contractors' dispute claims and advise Borough Director on solutions.
- Produce detailed daily and weekly construction project reports, maintain accurate records of items installed and deliveries to the site, and keep calculation books with accurate calculations, quantities, and areas of installation.
- A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting one or more construction projects which must have a total cost of at least $300,000 for each of the five years of the required experience.
- One year of the experience as described above and a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, landscape architecture, construction, construction technology, or construction management.
- One year of the experience as described above and a valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect, issued by a board of examining engineers, architects, or landscape architects duly established and qualified pursuant to the laws of any state or territory of the United States.
