Generator Technician

Fast growing and expanding generator service company seeks professional and experienced Generator Technicians that have an interest on being an integral part of a growing team and has a commitment in exceeding customer expectations.

As a P3 Generator Services Generator Technician you will be on the front lines of this effort using and sharing your extensive knowledge and experience in generator repair.

Location:

Our service responsibilities cover the state of New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, this position is based from our headquarters in Phillipsburg, NJ. Travel to customer locations is required and a company supplied truck with a fuel card will be provided.

Responsibilities:

Your objectives as the P3 Generator Services Generator Technician will be performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on both shop & field generators including automatic transfer switches of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records.

Requirements/Experience:

  • Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Previous experience working on commercial and industrial generators preferred.
  • The ability to participate in an on call, rotating schedule.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have strong self-management skills.
  • Must be able to operate power and hand tools as well as testing equipment.

· Must possess and maintain a comprehensive set of tools including a multi-meter, hand-tools, etc.

· High School Diploma or GED certification.

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Basic abilities in Microsoft software platforms.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States of America.
  • Must be currently residing in USA.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history and education background.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Possession of a valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one) and a valid driver’s license.
  • Possession of a valid TWIC Card (or ability to obtain one, a federal background check required to obtain one).

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to withstand climate fluctuations and sustain working in cold, hot, humid, and windy environmental conditions that are associated with working outside as well as indoors with generator machinery.

· Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, reach overhead, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

· Normal vision range (with or without corrective eyewear); ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols 100% of the time.

· Work Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Previous experience in generator repair and maintenance as a Field Technician is preferred. However, P3 Generator Services will provide training to an applicant that has an interest in learning and has a mechanical background.
