Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on micro trenching equipment, including trenching machines, saws, core machines, wet-vacs, guzzlers, trucks, diesel trucks, and related machinery.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain fluid levels, filters, belts, and other mechanical systems to prevent premature wear and damage.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, services performed, and hours worked.
  • Collaborate with the Micro Trenching Crew to assess equipment performance and provide recommendations for improvement or replacement as necessary.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new equipment models, and advancements in micro trenching technology to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project stakeholders regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and maintenance requirements.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical or heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanic, preferably in the field of construction, or micro trenching equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair equipment issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems commonly found in micro trenching machinery.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and specialized equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
  •  Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in written form.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
