Immediately hiring a Corporate Bookkeeper for a permanent, full-time role in Brooklyn, NY Organization is a highly reputable and growing nonprofit that provides housing services to those effected by homelessness in NYC. The bookkeeper reports into an experienced accounting manager and provides support to the finance and payroll teams. Responsibilities

  • Manage company books of 17+ entities, ensure that all entries are recorded accurately.
  • Manage accounts payable process including vendor invoices, payments, and uploading.
  • Complete online/phone payments and record activity.
  • Monitor utility accounts to ensure consistent payments and current statuses.
  • Monitor all auto-pay utilities ensuring that payments are accurately occurring and that the appropriate back-up to all transactions is uploaded into the system.
  • Research any accounts payable discrepancies or concerns raised by vendors regarding open invoices, errors in payments, etc.
  • Maintain consistent and active communication with the accounts receivable representatives of all vendors.
  • Research and confirm delivery/completion of open invoices for all entities.
  • Track 1099 payments of vendors.
  • Record monthly expense invoices to DHS.
  • Assist with the bi-weekly processing of payroll.
  • Complete regular maintenance of payroll system ensuring that all employee information is accurate in Paypro.
  • Actively communicate identified areas of opportunity to the Contracts & Budgets Manager and CFO.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of full charge bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency using QuickBooks
  • Bachelor’s Degree with Accounting or Finance concentration is preferred but not required
