Job DescriptionJob Description

The Permit Expeditor will be responsible for facilitating and expediting the permitting process for our construction projects. This role involves coordinating with local government agencies, preparing and submitting permit applications, and ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local building codes and regulations and will be able to navigate the permitting process efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit permit applications to the Sandy Springs Building and Safety Department and other relevant agencies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary documentation and information for permit applications.
  • Track the status of permit applications and follow up with government agencies to ensure timely approvals.
  • Communicate with local government officials to clarify requirements, address concerns, and resolve any issues that arise during the permitting process.
  • Maintain organized records of all permit applications, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Stay informed about changes to local building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations that may affect the permitting process.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers and other stakeholders on the status of permit applications.

Qualifications:

MUST Have knowledge of permitting process in Sandy Springs, GA or surrounding areas.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in construction management, urban planning, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a permit expeditor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and the permitting process in Sandy Springs, GA.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with government officials, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Sandy Springs area and familiarity with local government agencies.
  • Certification or training in construction management, urban planning, or a related field.
