Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLaborer/Scale OperatorPeoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Sheridan, MI within the Recycling industry. Laborer/Scale Operator:
  • M-F 12pm – 4:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-12:3pm
  • 25-35 hours a week.
  • Mandatory Saturdays
  • Weighing, sorting and grading scrap metal for recycling, disposal, or resale.
  • Unload customer material and stage
  • Recording details, filling out paperwork and working out payments for customers.
  • Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime, afternoon or evening hours as needed, based upon shift assignment and workloads.
  • Keep all work areas clean and tidy by completing regular yard maintenance. Cleaning, general housekeeping and landscaping.
Laborer/Scale Operator Qualifications:
  • Excellent attendance
  • Safe work habits
  • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions.
  • Must be comfortable using computer equipment, walkie talkies, intercom system and phone.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal commands
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Organizational skills
  • Team Player
  • A willingness to learn.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and have initiative.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
