Job DescriptionJob Description

About Us

Are you a military Veteran or Veteran-spouse with prior Executive Assistant experience? We need the right teammates to continue our growth in our mission-focused business supporting military Veterans We are looking for a high-energy, smart, and adaptable EA to come join our growing company and support the founder. This is a completely remote position for a completely remote team – you make your hours as you see fit

MilSpec Talent is a boutique executive recruiting firm that tackles two critical objectives:
1) help small to medium sized businesses find the best, proven management talent in the market: Veteran 2.0 leaders and 2) enable accomplished Veterans 2.0 candidates to find more opportunities tapping into their experiences in being a high-impact leader and manager. We support numerous small-to-medium sized businesses with their leadership hires, and we are growing rapidly

We are seeking a 30-40 hr/week Executive Assistant (1099 capacity) to support our CEO and fully-remote team. Hours are flexible except for certain standing meetings throughout the week. This is a learning environment, so we will continue to help you to develop and grow professionally

Why work with us?

  • Be exposed to a variety of business owners and leaders who are seeking the right talent to help their growing business. You have a say and can make an impact quickly

  • We are a small, tight remote team You have flexibility with working hours and working with co-workers who are also remote. So we care for one another. Be prepared to get to know the other members and get a little personal

  • Job security. No more wasting time around waiting for the next project to come on board. You’re part of a team and you’re with us for the long run.

  • You will get clear instructions and all the support you need from me to get you started. In fact, most of the processes are already built – so all we need you to do is to maintain them.

  • Be rewarded for your performance. As you develop your skills, you'll unlock rewards and gain the power to make a great impact We have quarterly goals and are planning on an annual, international extravaganza together

About the Role

You’ve been an EA elsewhere and understand the mindset to problem-solve, coordinate, and execute. You’re someone with a track record of being organized and hitting deadlines. You love checklists and communicating clearly and effectively. You thrive in an environment where you’re empowered, challenged, and rewarded. We are a supportive team environment; we care for each others’ success and you will play a big part in the success of others

We’re a small, fast-changing, extremely high performance Veteran-led organization. We have an entrepreneurial mindset that enables us to quickly test and iterate. We’ve recently implemented new project management tools and are learning how to better use them in our daily operations to make work (and life) easier. As the founder’s EA, you will have the ability to make immediate impact

We have 4 Company Values. Do they describe you?

  1. We are Relentless.

  2. We are Bold.

  3. We are Inquisitive.

  4. We are Serving.

About You

  • You have 1-3 yrs of prior EA experience for a small business.

  • You are comfortable with Excel and savvy enough to learn other digital platforms (e.g. ClickUp, Canva)

  • You are highly organized and can manage events/meetings in quickly changing environments.

  • You have a bias for action – and can ‘figure it out’ with research and/or learning.

  • You can connect and build relationships with the team and people.

  • You have an eye for detail and quality output.

  • You can function independently without continuous supervision.

  • You can handle and work with confidential information.

Here are some work tasks required while working with the team:

  • Manage all of the founder's emails and filter accordingly.

  • Manage the founder’s calendar and input details from other sources (like candidate resumes and notes).

  • Accomplish delegated tasks and also delegate tasks to other members of the team.
