As the Social Media Strategist, you will work within the Global Marketing Player Community team to manage weekend coverage of ARCANE and LEAGUE OF LEGENDS global social media channels. This includes optimizing and deploying social content, upholding social best practices, and engaging with our community. You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver on the high expectations of both Riot and our global players. 

Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, a collaborative spirit, a deep and current knowledge of each platform’s unique offerings and trends, and a keen eye for compelling and innovative content. The ideal candidate has experience fostering dedicated communities on social platforms and a deep familiarity with the Arcane and League of Legends audience. Ability to adapt to tone and strategy across a variety of channels is crucial. You'll help support team goals, develop player-focused content, and support our international teams in a content rollout that is relevant to players in every region.

This role will work on adjusted weekend hours and days, working Thursday through Monday, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

The Social Media Strategist will report to the Global Social Strategy Lead - LEAGUE OF LEGENDS on the Player Community team.

Responsibilities
 

  • Manage and operate official ARCANE and LEAGUE OF LEGENDS global social media channels across established and emerging platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) including content calendar planning and managing social communities with a player-first mindset
  • Manage campaigns effectively, thoughtfully prioritizing and problem solving
  • Work collaboratively across Community, Brand, Creative, Editorial, Influencer, and PR teams to champion player-first ideas and build globally integrated campaigns and strategies, consulting on social optimization while keeping the needs of players front of mind
  • Conduct social listening and collaborate on reactive comms as needed
  • Help build a connection with existing players and potential new players, managing UGC curation and amplification efforts in partnership with the Growth team
  • Foster global social conversation with existing players and potential new fans, build engaged communities, and propose new ways to engage with them through our owned social channels 
  • Identify gaming and social media trends, best practices and opportunities to inspire relevant content and innovation 

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years relevant professional experience in social media management, digital marketing, or equivalent
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling social media campaigns across multiple platforms with a proven track record of growing audiences and delivering on metrics 
  • Experience with social media listening and community engagement and outreach
  • Proficient in all relevant social media platforms, with direct experience in content optimization for TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Knowledge of the League of Legends, Arcane  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Personal experience as a player of League or other Riot titles 
  • Experience with developing strategies to localize campaigns for audiences around the globe
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, readily adapting to changing priorities, nuanced feedback and tight project time frames 
  • Experience fostering passionate communities online
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills
