Outside Sales/Service - Account Manager 

Decorative Lighting Industry

Remote - Must live on Long Island

Extensive travel - Territory Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn

Requires: Previous sales experience with a manufactured product. Lighting industry experience a plus, not required.

Our client is a small, rapidly growing firm that represents some of the top, best-selling brands in the decorative lighting industry. The company serves the retail and home construction markets in New York City (NYC, Brooklyn, Queens), Long Island, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. Fantastic potential for professional and financial growth.

Responsibilities of the Outside Sales/Service – Account Manager:

•       Manage specific accounts within a given territory to grow sales

•       Drive new product placement

•       Develop new sales opportunities within existing accounts – e.g., work with builders, designers, etc.  (outside sales)

•       Prospect for new account opportunities

•       Service accounts with product training, display management, sales associate assistance, inventories, etc.

•       Manage literature and digital resources

•       Represent the company at trade shows, professional events

 

Qualifications of the Outside Sales/Service – Account Manager:

•       Previous sales experience with branded products or as a manufacturer representative

•       Must be an experienced B2B seller, selling into one or more of the following channels: Showrooms, electric distributors, interior designers, architects, builders and contractors, real estate developers, trade shows and expos, etc.

•       Knowledge of electric, construction, design/style areas preferred; Lighting industry experience a plus

•       Demonstrable sales track record

•       Prospecting experience, building sales pipeline & client relationships

•       Must live in Long Island, New York or New Jersey and have reliable transportation for extensive travel. Note: Mileage and tolls reimbursed

•       Competitive, driven, self-motivated sales mentality

•       Top line communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal

•       Proficient with technology (Microsoft Office, use of iPad, etc.)

•       Persistent, resourceful, and able to work autonomously
