Job Summary:
As an Accountant (Business office manager) at SmartFix, you'll be pivotal in managing our financial records, including daily and monthly journal entries, payroll processing, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Your expertise will contribute to generating critical financial reports, facilitating month-end close procedures, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining financial health within the company. In addition, our accountant will assist in coordinating office services, business development, marketing, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

  • Ensures all AP invoices are paid timely.

  • Manage vendor onboarding, including Form W-9.

  • Handle bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing efficiently.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, variance analysis, and budget vs. actual performance, providing insights to management.

  • Manage the monthly close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Reconcile bank statements monthly and prepare and post daily cash transactions.

  • Prepare tax documents such as 1099 forms and support tax return preparations.

  • Prepare check requests, wire transfers and ACH transactions

  • Handle ad-hoc accounting projects.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data analysis and report development

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

  • Participate in the New Hire Orientation program and other regular associate meetings or functions.

  • Assist the Executive Director with completion of documents, correspondence and special projects as needed, Prepare various spreadsheets as requested

  • Prepare new hire paperwork, employee status changes, employee exit paperwork, and leave of absence requests

Applicant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting field or related field, CPA Recommended

  • 2+ years full time experience in accounting and more years’ experience in office management, including bookkeeping and human resources responsibilities is preferred

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting standards

  • Proficient in accounting software

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to think and work outside the box

  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical aptitude

  • High degree of accuracy

  • Available to start working in person in the middle of June 2024

Work Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday

  • 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
