Job DescriptionJob Description

Sandia Presbyterian Church is looking for a skilled and results-driven individual with a heart for people to coordinate our various Audio and Visual (A/V) needs for multiple worship spaces. Initial tasks include evaluating current configuration and recommending next steps to improve our capabilities. The Worship A/V Coordinator will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising a team of worship AV/IT volunteers. We need a strong team member to play a pivotal role in growing our church with continual technological advances in our worship services, both in person and online.

 

Ideal candidates will be innovative and multimedia savvy. Ultimately, the outstanding Worship A/V Coordinator should have a firm grasp of the technology required for effective worship services and drive improvement in our capabilities. Familiarity with Mac computers and Allen & Heath soundboards is a plus.

 

Major Responsibilities:

·Scheduling and training of A/V operators for all worship services, including special services such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday Christmas Eve, etc. and occasional congregational events.

·Attending worship services and band rehearsals, assisting with troubleshooting or filling in for a missing operator as needed.

·Securing A/V coverage for funerals and weddings (for a $150 fee).

·Creating the best audio mix possible for the rooms and services.

·Maintain A/V equipment and software components by identifying needs for upkeep, repair, upgrades, etc., and communicating those needs to the Director of Music and Worship.

·Researching potential solutions and making recommendations to church leadership that fit with the established annual budget.

·Serving as a backup for creating the slides to be presented in weekly worship services, in coordination with the pastor(s), pastoral administrative assistant, worship ministry, and others as needed.

·Work with staff and volunteers to create and edit video clips for services and online presentation.

 

Desired Skills:

·Knowledge and experience with A/V and presentation technologies such as microphones, speakers, mixers, soundboards, etc., visual components such as cameras, projectors, etc., and computer hardware and software technologies associated with all elements of worship.

·Proficient with Renewed Vision ProPresenter version 6 (including network shared libraries).

·Proficient with Live Streaming technologies including: YouTube Live Stream Studio, Blackmagic Design ATEM, Digital Camera operation, HDMI to Ethernet interfaces.

·Understanding of basic wiring of audio equipment and making simple repairs to wires.

·Understanding basics of computer networking operations.

·Either has experience mixing audio successfully in a live environment or willing to attend training and work alongside a mentor.

·Adaptivity to new software.

·Familiarity with multiple Social Media platforms.

·Demonstrated experience in researching and benchmarking information.

·Able to work in team settings and take directions.

·Leadership and coordinated team efforts.

·Excellent interpersonal skills.
