Position posting:

Express Employment Professionals is partnering with our client in White Bear Lake to hire a Direct Hire Lead Bank Teller. We are looking for an energetic and dedicated lead teller to provide work direction to the teller department and excellent customer service. Previous banking experience is required.

Requirements:
Previous teller/banking experience required.

  • Managerial and trainer experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner.
  • High attention to detail with all transactions
  • Ability to cross-sell bank products and services.
  • Able to lift and move coin bags (up to 30 lbs.).
  • Balancing accuracy and math skills.
  • Experience with EZ Teller, Navigator, Fiserv and EZ ID (Preferred not required)

Hours: 8:30 - 5 Monday - Friday
9 - 12 Saturday, rotating schedule

More details for the position:

Customer Service and Sales: 60%

  • Cash checks for customers, requesting identification within established guidelines, checking balances as well as stop payments. Issue cashier’s checks and cash advances on major credit cards; sell Travelers Express money orders, Travelers Cheques and prepaid cards.
  • Provide an optimum level of customer service by assessing the needs of our customers in a sensitive and responsive manner; recognize opportunities to generate additional business for the bank.
  • Process Canadian and foreign bank drafts and currency and place check holds on checking accounts.

Staffing: 30%

  • Responsible for overall operation of the teller department, including assigning work, problem solving, helping with complex transactions, dealing with sensitive customer issues that may involve explaining policies and procedures, etc.
  • Help individual tellers locate cause of and correct differences in their cash drawers. Answer teller questions regarding individual transactions and deal with customers, as appropriate, to resolve problems satisfactorily.
  • Prepare and conduct performance evaluations. Assist with the hiring, discipline, promotion, transfer, and, termination of tellers.
  • Schedule tellers to maintain an adequate level of coverage at all times.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of teller machines and other equipment in the teller area.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate level of teller supplies; reorder as needed.
  • Conduct teller meetings to review problems, explain new ideas or changes in policy and procedures.
  • Oversee and backup Cash Vault Teller.

Balancing: 10%

  • Investigate and process corrections for branch capture and make necessary corrections.
  • Balance cash drawer daily including periodic batching of cashed checks according to
  • established policies and procedures. Balance cash vault when necessary.
  • Perform monthly spot audits on the tellers’ cash drawers and bait money, including monitoring proper levels of working cash and cash reserve and maintain related records in compliance with auditing regulations.
  • Monitor cash supply for ATM and ensure balancing procedures are followed. Assure that all daily remittances are completed on a timely basis.
