We are seeking an experienced Ready Mix Driver Safety Supervisor to oversee and enhance the safety protocols for our fleet operations, ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with all safety regulations.

Job Description:

As the Ready Mix Driver Safety Supervisor at HRM Concrete, you will be responsible for managing and implementing safety programs specifically for our fleet of ready mix truck drivers. This role requires a deep understanding of DOT regulations, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to driver safety and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and training specifically tailored for ready mix truck drivers.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments focused on driving operations and vehicle conditions.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding driver safety and vehicle operation.
  • Lead safety meetings, driver training sessions, and toolbox talks to promote safe driving practices and awareness.
  • Collaborate with fleet management to enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver training, vehicle inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Monitor and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear by all drivers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all driver-related safety issues and emergency response situations.
  • Work closely with HR and fleet management to manage driver qualification files, including CDL compliance and medical certifications.
 Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management, particularly in the transportation or ready mix concrete industry.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards specific to commercial vehicle operations.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and develop effective safety solutions.
  • Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as needed.
