Job Description:


As a Ready Mix Truck Mechanic at HRM Concrete, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of ready mix trucks. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on ready mix trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of the fleet.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on trucks
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and plant personnel to prioritize and schedule maintenance needs.
  • Assist with emergency repairs to minimize operational disruptions and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the ready mix concrete or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of ready mix trucks and plant equipment operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials.
  • Valid drivers license; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as needed.
