Structural Steel Engineer

Job Summary:
We are a structural steel contractor seeking to hire a second licensed engineer who is also open to learning steel cost estimating.
Responsibilities will prioritize structural steel engineering tasks: sizing structural
steel members, designing connections, building modeling and drafting with Revit, reviewing shop
drawings and erection/crane plans, creating/updating engineering spreadsheets, creating
calculation packages and drawing sets, etc. Occasional visits to job sites or fabrication shop to assess problems and determine solutions.
Applicant should be open to learning structural steel cost estimating, which will help to design more cost efficiently. Cost estimating will fill time as needed between engineering tasks.
Applicant should be familiar with Microsoft Excel. Revit and Bluebeam will be often used as well.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required qualifications include a Masters degree in Structural Engineering
4 to 10 years work experience.
PE or SE license
Applicant should be familiar with applicable building codes. (IBC, ASCE7, AISC, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary is to be determined based on experience. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, 26 days per year in paid time off, 401K matches up to 4%, year end profit sharing and bonus, continuing education, and Employee Stock ownership (JD2 is a 100% employee-owned company)
