Position Summary / Purpose

The Plant Manager coordinates all production activities and production staff to support KPI’s and ensure safety, quality and production policy and procedure conformance. This position is responsible for the organization, utilization, and inventory of inbound and outbound materials and product. The Plant Manager is responsible for keeping lines of communication open with company management for business cohesion.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the plant and ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Provides leadership and direction to the production team to demonstrate responsible safety
  • behavior, perform to quality standards, and attain efficient and flexible workflow and productivity
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum daily operations to exceed customers’ expectations
  •  Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Work with management and customers to schedule jobs to meet customer deadlines
  • Assist in maintaining production capacity through staffing, equipment, and supply management
  • Develop systems & processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance and investigate cost-reduction measures
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly (including consumables)
  • Maintain efficient and accurate flow of documentation between production and management
  • Ensure continuous production flow and redirect employees to areas of need based on priority and employee abilities
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and accurate and timely inbound and outbound shipments
  • Implement effective scheduling practices for deliveries and pickups
  • Maintain safe working environment based on OSHA regulations through safety personnel
  • Support continuous improvement in production processes and procedures
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Oversee scheduled & urgent equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with production team
  • Provide assistance and support to all departments

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts
  •  Monitor ongoing production to anticipate concerns and create contingency plans
  •  Receiving and coordination of materials
  •  Perform final check process before jobs reach shop floor
  • Maintain facility & schedule necessary maintenance
