We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team in a manufacturing environment. This role is critical in supporting the Controller with overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities not limited to:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports and provide variance analysis and explanations.
  • Accounting Operations:
    • Support with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
    • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Maintain and enhance internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Assist in coordinating external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget variances and provide analysis and recommendations to management.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
    • Expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong ethical standards and integrity.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
