Position Summary

The Vice President of People (VPP) is responsible for establishing and aligning people resources, organizational performance strategies, and infrastructure with overall business strategies to ensure People Management practices fully support the established culture, values, and vision for the organization. The VPP is responsible for setting the strategic direction for all disciplines within the PC & PD Departments. The VPP will provide strategies and solutions that promote a culture that values, expects and rewards engagement, inspired leadership, member advocacy, technical excellence, and accountability.

The VPP will foster a culture that promotes empowerment, growth, and a collaborative spirit within the defined areas of responsibility. The VPP will also promote cross-functional teamwork among all employees and participate in the design, research, and development of long-range plans for expanded and/or improved overall operations of the Credit Union.


Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities

20% - Talent Management – Lead the PC & PD Teams with continuous improvement efforts with a focus on delivering exceptional PC programs and initiatives such as Talent Acquisition strategies, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI), Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Performance Management, and Leave Management to achieve top notch performance and health throughout the credit union.


20% - Talent Development – Partners with all levels of leadership to drive people development programs and initiatives that will develop talent to ensure confidence in delivering the member experience and to establish our people as the competitive advantage. Cultivate a learning culture that develops and facilitates a Leadership System, that includes leadership onboarding, development through competency modeling, career, and succession planning to build continuity in how leaders serve employees and members and solidify a strong bench to achieve corporate goals.


20% - Payroll, Total Rewards, and Retirement Administration – Lead all compensation, benefits, and wellness functions to ensure all total rewards systems and programs support corporate missions, goals, and strategic objectives. Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of the Total Rewards program, including health, welfare, wellness, retirement, base pay, incentives and other rewards and perquisites. Analyzes current rewards programs and policies to ensure they align with business strategy and optimize the ability to attract and retain top talent. Act as the Chair of the Retirement Investment Committee, which oversees and reviews the investments of the assets of the Section 401(k) and 457 plans and oversees the administration of the Plans. Participates as a key leader for the Total Rewards Committee.


15% - Leadership, Culture, & Engagement –Cultivates a collaborative environment and workplace experience that hires, develops, and recognizes quality talent to meet the needs of the membership. Provides leadership, coaching, and mentorship to strengthen the Credit Union’s bench of future leaders and achieve business objectives. Lead in a way to inspire the mission and values of the organization to develop effective leaders and increase employee engagement to become an employer of choice.


10% - Human Resources Analytics and Reporting – Analyze trends and metrics through review of various surveys (i.e., onboarding, top companies, engagement, and benefits surveys) to provide the appropriate workplace support, develop solutions, programs, policies, to foster increased engagement.


10% - Compliance/Regulatory/Budgeting – Proactively drive change through Policy Administration, analyze workflows, establish/oversee budgets, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws in addition to credit union regulatory matters.


5% - Performs other duties as assigned.


Education:

Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited educational facility in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field at an accredited college/university is preferred. PHR or SHRM-CP is required and SPHR or SHRM-SCP is preferred.


Experience:

10+ years of progressive Senior Leadership experience with emphasis on Human Resources, Talent Development, and Change Management experience is required. Financial services or retail experience preferred.

• Present a professional, courteous image when interacting with members, co-workers, the Board of Directors, management, business partners, and the community to build strong collaborative business relationships.

• Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaborative tools (Teams and Zoom).

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of organization’s Employee Handbook and policies.

• Must demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
