Cayman ABA is the first any only BHCOE-accredited ABA agency in the Caribbean, providing ABA interventions to children with autism spectrum disorders and other related developmental delays, ages 2-18. We are looking for an experienced and competent Clinical Coordinator to oversee a team of RBTs and assist with managing BCBA client caseloads.  The person we're looking for is eager to be part of an impassioned clinic, dedicated to serving families in need.   


As a Clinical Coordinator at Cayman ABA, you should demonstrate excellent client service, communication and organizational skills, plus the ability to perform well in stressful situations. The Clinical Coordinator position requires an experienced and competent BCaBA/QASP-S, who provides in-session training and fidelity checks while also serving as the primary point of contact for a group of clients, feeding that important information to BCBAs immediately.


The Clinical Coordinator will attend client related meetings, provide training to RBTs/ABATs, assist in conducting evaluations of clients and assist in design treatment plans for clients.  The Clinical Coordinator will also be responsible for educating, observing, assessing, and supervising the activities and service delivery of all RBTs on their team as directed. 


Reports to: Staff Quality Assurance Supervisor and/or Clinical Practice Supervisor or Manager

Direct Reports: RBTs 


The main functions of this role include: 

  • Conduct Direct Supervision with Senior and Junior Behaviour Technicians across all clients 
  • Support the Staff Quality Assurance Supervisor with Behavior Technician Treatment Integrity Checks



Responsibilities: 

Staff Training & Events

  • Meet regularly with Clinical Manager to plan and organize RBT/ABAT trainings based on identified areas of need and goals
  • Maintain RBT/ABAT training calendar (MJ/Kim)
    • Group supervision
    • CPI Training
    • Clinical Staff Training
  • Conduct RBT training during weekly group supervision meetings or yearly training periods when scheduled by the Clinical Manager. Training topics will be preselected by the Clinical Manager based on areas the candidate demonstrates competence.
  • Guide new RBT/ABAT trainees through their first 15 sessions, conducting overlap training and providing feedback to prepare them for their initial field evaluation
  • Act as the RBT/ABAT liaison, gathering feedback from RBTs/ABATs that they might not feel comfortable talking with their supervisor about, and coordinates with supervisors to meet their needs
  • Conduct RBT performance integrity checks on a monthly basis as assigned by the Clinical Manager. 
  • Support BCBAs during client initial and re-assessment periods as needed. 
  • Act as an Assistant Assessor to BCBAs when completing the annual RBT/ABAT Renewal Competency Assessment for each RBT/ABAT-certified technician.
  • Support BCBAs with the development of program and training material for clients and parents (e.g., training powerpoints and worksheets).
  • Helps trainees with registering for ABAT
  • Conducts study sessions with ABAT/RBT Trainees


Session Coverage

  • Covers sessions when needed, due to staff out sick or on vacation


Office Coordination & Clinical Ops Assistance

  • Takes on tasks assigned by the Clinical Manager, including administrative tasks such as organizing google drive, and helping revise policies & procedures.
  • Posts draft minutes in the RBTs & BCBAs channel in Google Spaces before group supervision meetings, with the organized agenda for each meeting. Completes minutes during the meeting.


Other Admin

  • Helps revise/update Work Instructions regularly, at the direction of the COPS or CM
  • Schedules community outings
    • Schedules at least one community outing per week with our clients in collaboration with BCBAs

Conducts assessments

Collects, uploads and reviews all client files provided by parents and other providers to CentralReach before assessment begins

Eligibility

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Credential from the BACB, in good standing
  • Minimum of two years experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician with children 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Masters' Degree (preferred)
  • BCaBA qualification (preferred)
  • Willingness to learn administrative aspects of an ABA clinic
  • Proficiency with software including Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
  • Able to work independently
  • Must maintain confidentiality of clients and staff
  • Must provide 2 professional references and 1 character reference

Requirements

  • Minimum contract of 30 months (2.5 years)
  • Must pass HIV test and criminal background check
  • Must obtain reliable transportation within the first month of relocation 


Physical demands:

Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:

  • Physically able to respond quickly from any position, walk quickly or jog short distances, stand on feet for a minimum of 15 minutes
  • Lift and carry 25-100 lbs.
  • Push / Pull up to 150 lbs.
  • Squat / Kneel / Stoop
  • Bend
  • Twist upper, and lower back

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; the working hours of the Employee, in terms of a start and finish time, may not be prescribed due to the nature of the Employee’s duties under this agreement.  The Employee will be expected to work forty-five (45) hours per week.
