About the Role:
We seek a dynamic Solar Sales Director with over 15 years of experience in the solar
installation business, specifically in residential, commercial, and community needs, to lead
our sales efforts in the Midwest and Nationwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Utilize knowledge of the total addressable market (TAM), serviceable addressable market (SAM), and serviceable obtainable market (SOM) to develop strategic sales plans and target key market segments effectively.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and market expansion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies, promotional activities, and product positioning based on market insights and customer feedback.
  • Generate and pursue new leads, utilizing various sources and trade publications.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate and grow the customer base within the targeted territories, in alignment with the company’s ambition statements and its strategic objectives.
  • Achieve the company’s strategic objectives related to sales volume, revenue, gross margin, and territory management.
  • Establish product bankability to aid clients with financing.
  • Manage aging inventory and meet sales price requirements.
  • Negotiate commercial terms on supply contracts and enhance product adoption over time.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to assess sales performance, track market share, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales cycle optimization to drive efficiency and maximize revenue.
  • Leverage CRM tools and sales analytics to monitor sales metrics, KPIs, and ROI, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Develop and execute sales training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market dynamics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the sales team, encouraging experimentation and adaptation to evolving market conditions.
  • Lead marketing activities to align sales strategies with product roadmap, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements, providing guidance and thought leadership to internal stakeholders and customers alike.
  • Manage customer relationships and develop business opportunities, driving sales and cementing the company's market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and prospects, ensuring our solutions meet their needs.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle of PV products across sectors.
  • Provide sales forecasts and opportunities.
  • Gather and share competitive and market data to aid strategic planning.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences to secure new sales opportunities.
  • Travel up to 50% within the sales territory as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of B2B sales experience, out of which, 10+ years in the renewable energy industry.
  • Experience in sales support in solar photovoltaic, energy storage, or related industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Sales Force or similar sales tools.
  • Proven experience in finding and selling to new prospects, negotiating deals, and managing commercial terms.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Native English Speaker.
  • Personality: Self-motivated, Excellent leadership, management, and teamwork skills, proactive, with a strong work ethic and competitive drive.
