Insurance Verification Specialist Job description: This position is pivotal in gathering details of client insurance benefit and claims processes to achieve prompt payment and/or reimbursement. The successful candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills while being professional yet assertive. Highly effective organizational skills are required for accuracy and timely gathering of data. This fast-paced position requires a high attention to detail. Prior knowledge of insurance claims verification and or filing is a plus. Insurance Verification Specialist Duties/Responsibilities: • Handles all aspects of verifying and obtaining the patient’s insurance benefits • Utilizes organizational skills, proper phone etiquette and communication skills • Accurately records all data gathered in order to allow prompt processing / billing for services provided • Works directly with the Insurance Facility Representatives and Facility’s Admissions teams, ensuring all patient insurance information has been collected and thoroughly verified Insurance Verification Specialist Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • AA Degree or Vocational training preferred in a related field • A minimum of 3-5 years of office or related healthcare industry experience • Individual must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
