An incredible opportunity has presented itself for an experienced Education and Quality Generalist at Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH). The Education and Quality Generalist works under the supervision of the Organizational Development and Quality Director. Collaborates with organizational leaders and others to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate education and training activities related to competency programs, education goals, practice/performance standards, associated policies/procedures, and orientation processes. Assists in establishing an organizational culture that emphasizes improvement through teaching and learning, personal and professional development, and quality improvement.

  • Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Monday – Friday, full benefits

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborates with organizational leaders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Super Users (SUs), facility educators, and other assigned staff to plan and organize resources/facilities needed to accomplish the objectives for organizational and department-specific competency programs and quality improvement initiatives. These efforts are aimed at enhancing organizational performance through well-coordinated training and educational programs.
  • Works with department leaders/designees to assess and prioritize education needs. Aligns policies/procedures with departmental competencies, standards of practice, performance standards, regulatory requirements, and onboarding/orientation of new staff. This includes managing General Orientation (GO), Orientation Wrap-up (OW-U), annual and quarterly education programs, and just-in-time training. Develops action plans to achieve identified education goals.
  • Develops and implements quality improvement strategies and training initiatives to enhance organizational performance. This includes conducting regular audits, assisting in evaluating compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures, and facilitating clinical education and skill development.
  • Leverages various technologies and technical equipment (e.g., Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, publishing and editing software for video programs, operation of simulation equipment) to develop and implement organization-wide education opportunities. Identifies programs and practices that enhance the knowledge, development, and expertise of organizational staff.
  • Organizes and oversees non-clinical student programs including Co-op Students, Job Shadows, and other related non-clinical student programs, and assists the clinical educator with clinical student programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing patient care in a clinically-based healthcare profession
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an educator/teaching role or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with applying adult learning principles/theory and educational software/learning management systems is preferred
  • Certified CPR Instructor is preferred/required within one year of hire
