The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effectiveness and quality in all purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and services required for the company’s operations. Ensure all purchases meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient supply of necessary materials. Manage reordering processes to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Purchase Orders: Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. Track and manage the status of orders.
- Cost Management: Evaluate and analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure all purchased materials and services meet the required standards. Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, production, and finance, to understand and fulfill their procurement needs.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role is required. Experience in the aviation industry is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical Ability: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess cost, quality, and supplier performance. Strong attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional) are advantageous.
