FOOD TECHNOLOGIST AND AUDIT SPECIALIST
The Quality Assurance Coordinator and Audit Specialist is responsible for various aspects of quality programs; daily operations; execution of new and maintenance of existing programs; practices of procedures; and SQF and PCQI duties as outlined in the FSMA regulation. Prepares and leads all external 3rd party audits.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
1. Take a lead role for the regulatory (FDA) and certification audits for all sites– like GFSI/SQF, Organic, Gluten-Free.
2. Establish, develop and maintain alliances with industry partners and service providers.
3. Coordinate special requirements for our industrial customers. Maintain records and files of industrial customers.
4. Conduct document reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that requirements of the food safety standards of FDA and industrial customers are met
5. Coordinate one or more of the various pre-requisite programs that make up the quality systems of S line auditor training, food safety training/discussions sessions and Food Safety Audit Program (FSA). Handles various quality program reports.
6. Assist in held product dispositions, investigate and summarize findings. Create & analyze trending reports
7. Write new or revise existing SOPs as required and assist in the implementation/training of those new or revised documents.
8. Continuously identify and communicate improvement opportunities. Support Operations in the effective and compliant production of quality products.
9. Work with other Quality Assurance Managers & Coordinators from our other facilities. Liaise with other team members/departments to ensure the validity of the records.
10. Lead and direct other quality staff member’s activities as the schedule and events change.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Master’s Degree preferred (in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related) or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing industry.
· Must have a PCQI and HACCP certification.
· Knowledgeable in local, state and federal food regulations and have an understanding of SQF food safety, and food manufacturing processes, SQF Practitioner experience preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy
· Ability to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture.
· Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadline, and reporting.
· MUST PASS physical, drug and background check
