Staff Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team at a leading solar construction firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, combined with an understanding of the solar energy sector and construction industry. This role involves managing financial records, overseeing budgeting, and providing financial insights for solar construction projects.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Proven experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or solar energy industry

· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

· High attention to detail and accuracy with a strong ability to work independently and meet deadlines

· Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skill

· CPA or similar certification is a plus

Responsibilities

· Financial Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies

· Accounts Payable Management: Maintains accounts payable, including processing invoices, verifying transactions, and managing vendor payments.

· Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

· Invoicing and Accounts Receivable: Manage invoicing for clients, track payments, and maintain accounts receivable records. Ensure timely collection of revenues.

· Assisting in the Internal and External Audits: Supporting the Finance team during monthly and yearly audits by providing supporting documentation

· Cost Analysis and Control: Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, and overheads. Implement cost-reduction strategies to maximize profitability.

· Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of budgets for solar construction projects. Monitor project expenditures against budgets and provide regular financial updates to management.

· Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis and forecasting to assist in strategic planning. Contribute to financial decision-making processes.

· Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial laws and regulations relevant to the construction and solar industries. Identify and mitigate financial risks.

· Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices
