Stark & Stark has an opening for an entry level staff accountant to support our firm in Hamilton, NJ. The ideal candidate is self-directed and detailed-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Record Journal Entries
- Prepare monthly Bank and other Account reconciliations.
- Support general accounting and finance functions including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Billing
- Collections
- Bank Deposits
- Assist with maintenance of Client Matters relating to the Finance Department
- Assist in Budget/Forecasting preparation and review
- Prepare General Ledger Account Analysis
- Research, analyze, and resolve client inquiries
- Protect Firm value by keeping information confidential
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Two to three years of Basic Accounting experience with a professional services organization
- Proficiency with Word and advanced Excel skills
- Motivated self-starter with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with Rippe/Surepoint preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software required.
- Previous experience interfacing with law firm or professional services partners and clients is a plus.
- Collaborative team-oriented work ethic.
