Responsibilities:
Manage a team of over 20 Success Coaches who provide Socio-Emotional Learning programs at 27 elementary and middle school sites in the Pomona Unified School District.
Be the primary contact person for the Program with the district, staff, and parents.
Embed Groza’s mission and vision while ensuring a safe, dynamic, and engaging environment for staff and students.
Ensure staff adheres to the Groza curriculum, fostering a fantastic program that guarantees success for the district, community, families, and students.
Provide staff access to meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities.
Oversee all aspects of day-to-day programming, including immediately reporting emergencies and personnel conflicts to the Student Success Coordinator.
Recruit, hire, and supervise Success Coaches capable of managing a classroom environment of up to 20 students.
Prepare, collect, review, and submit completed student, family, and District feedback forms.
Conduct surveys for periodic program evaluations, including parents, staff, and students.
Collaborate with school day initiatives relevant to afterschool programming, including youth leadership, service learning, tutoring programs, back-to-school events, and other activities after school.
Plan effective programs throughout the year, including session planning, development of class selections for students, site visits, culminating events, monthly calendaring, collaboration with core day initiatives, and “real-life” experiences for students.
Schedule site staff and approve payroll
Submit check requests, purchase supplies, reconcile program supply budgets, and update inventory every quarter.
Review student sign-in sheets daily.
Maintain positive and open communication with program personnel through on-site weekly meetings and periodic program assessments.
Maintain positive and open communications with school administration and faculty through monthly and quarterly meetings with parents and other stakeholders.
Work evenings and weekends as required.
Attend all required management staff meetings and school site meetings.
Travel to off-site meetings, training, and events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor Degree
Minimum four years of management experience in an afterschool program, day camp, or youth-based organization for elementary and middle school students
Must be proficient in Spanish
Must have reliable transportation.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with School District staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders.Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
Familiarity with quality criteria for afterschool programs.
Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
Proficiency in computer software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office and Google Suites).
CPR and First Aid Certifications.
Must clear Drug Test and DOJ/FBI Live Scan.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Clearance of TB Test within 60 days of hire.
Physical ability to lead and participate in structured activities.
