2+ years of experience in management within the collision industry
Role Responsibilties
o Labor assignment and production management. Responsible for assigning repair jobs to body technicians and prioritizing vehicles for teardown or paint
o Maintain employee training matrix for all Body shop technicians
o Perform damage vehicle FPoR Inspection and assign severity type
o Organizes paint/body shop and monitors repair status
o Provide ETR on a daily basis
o Vehicle inspection and estimate generation of all damaged VW/Audi and Porsche Units
o Estimate repair costs and the anticipated time needed to complete them
o Organizes and inventories paint and material requirements with supplier
o Maintain all repair order information in the PQOS to reflect vehicle status
o Ensure third party surveyor information is on time and accurately transmitted
o Use vehicle priority matrix to assign and schedule repair work
o Assign work to Painters/Preppers/Polish and teardown techs based on complexity and skill.
o Inspects all vehicle repairs for quality control prior to release for processing
o Ensure work areas (bays, paint, details, parts, etc.) are kept clean and orderly and all employees follow safety/OSHA/EPA guidelines
o Attend and provide production status updates during daily release meetings
o Conduct regular meetings with production employees to review daily/monthly goals and repair order status during daily release meetings
o Request supplemental surveys for hidden and missed damages
o Monitor aging vehicle report to ensure vehicle prioritization
o Daily communication with Manager & Brand personnel to inform of any delays due to parts or capacity concerns
o Monitor and manager outside bodyshop return vehicles and process if necessary
o Perform inspection on in transit repair returns
o Work with Mechanical Shop Supervisor & PQT Manager to in-source all in transit damage vehicle repairs for the region
o Ensures billing for transportation and warranty claims are submitted in a timely manner. Current requirement is weekly submission (subject to change)
o Chemical usage evaluation
o Get bodyshop certified for aluminum welding & structural repairs
o Other duties assigned by bodyshop supervisor
· Provide a back-up/support role to the Mechanical Supervisor (15%)
o Schedule stop order and mechanical shop rework
o Provide PDI team support if necessary
o Labor force idle time evaluation
o Monitor on-hold count on daily basis to evaluate overtime and Saturday work requirement
o Create weekly labor timesheets and submission to Payroll Services
Flexibility during vessel/train arrivals, during actions, stop orders and/or market introductions, which could require overtime, weekend and holidays work
Travel to other ports for follow up or coordination of stop orders and/or market introductions, as per need
