As the DCM Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a crucial role in our finance department by managing and maintaining accurate records of all outgoing payments and invoices. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will contribute to the financial stability of our grocery store. This role will primarily focus on managing Accounts Payable (AP) functions to ensure the smooth financial operations of our store.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing:

    • Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers.

    • Verify the accuracy of invoices, including pricing, quantities, and terms.

    • Code, classify, and enter invoices according to indicated expense categories.

  2. Vendor Relations:

    • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors.

    • Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.

    • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and any outstanding issues.

  3. Payment Processing:

    • Prepare payment batches for approval, ensuring adherence to payment schedules.

    • Issue payments via approved methods.

    • Maintain accurate records of all payments made.

  4. Expense Reconciliation:

    •  Reconcile vendor statements with accounts payable records to identify discrepancies.

    • Investigate and resolve any outstanding or unresolved discrepancies.

  5. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical records of invoices, payments, and related documentation.

    • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

  6. Collaboration

    • Collaborate with the manager, to facilitate efficient AP processes.

Qualifications:

  • ·  Keen attention to detail

  • ·  Data entry; invoice processing

  • ·  Scanning, filing, proofreading

  • ·  Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • ·  Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • ·  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • ·  Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar support role is an advantage

  • ·  Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments

  • ·  Confidentiality and adaptability skills
