Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Assistant Controller with various financial reporting obligations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including transactions related to revenue, utilities, lease obligations, insurance, and property taxes for operational solar facilities.
  • Oversee monthly closing activities for designated entities.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firms and auditors during annual financial audits and reviews.
  • Offer support to the accounts payable team to ensure accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Adhere to company accounting policies to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, state reporting mandates, and internal management reporting standards.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts for assigned entities.
  • Maintain current Financial Close Analysis documentation for the entities under management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field with relevant accounting coursework, or an Associate's degree in Accounting accompanied by a minimum of two years of accounting experience.
  • Proficient in accounting software and spreadsheet applications, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of effectively collaborating with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Adept at identifying issues, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing logical conclusions.
