1st shift, Metal Fabrication Lead (Strong Measuring Skills) $22 Piedmont, SC

Job Summary: This is a working lead position that will focus on completing production orders to meet customer delivery dates and helping a small team with daily activities. In this role you will set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. You will use computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. The lead will control and adjust machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. You will also be responsible for ensuring all required documentation and transactions are made to keep accurate production and inventory numbers.

Job Title: Team Lead – Metal Fabrication

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with occasional overtime including some mandatory Saturdays. (40 hours work week)

FIRM ATTENDANCE POLICY. You must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to be considered. Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug test and 7-year national criminal background check to be considered.

IN OFFICE TESTING REQUIRED Excellent math skills including the ability to understand fractions, decimals, and reading rulers and other measuring tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist the plant in meeting its Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.

· Measuring Material and Pattern Cutting

· Sheet Metal work includes shearing, punching, bending, grinding, chop saw, soldering, band saw, etc.

· Plastic Membrane work includes cutting, forming, and welding.

· Assisting with shipping and receiving as necessary

· Safety Awareness of machinery and workplace

· Physical Checks of Production & Quality Control

· Cross-train employees within your work area.

· Participate in process improvement activities as required.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

· Light industrial metal fabrication experience: 2+ years. (required)

· Skilled in reading a tape measure (required)

· Operate hand tools such as grinder, drill, skill saw, etc. (required)

· Ability to read technical drawings, sketches, and documents (required)

· High School Diploma or GED (required)

· Desire to grow personally and professionally (required)

· Strong Computer and Tablet Skills (required)

· Excellent interpersonal skills. (required)

· Ability to perform routine maintenance (required)

· Ability respectively challenges the status quo (required)

· Manage your own time and the time of others (required)

· Effective written and verbal communication skills (required)

· Manufacturing and/or HVAC experience (preferred)

· Previous experience leading small teams (preferred)

· Experience with Improvement methods such as 5s and Kaizen (preferred)

Education:

High School Diploma or GED Required

License/Certification:

  • Office Hours: We are open from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Our last walk-ins are accepted until 6:00 PM. Please plan your visit accordingly.
