Job Overview

Position Title: Welder/Machinist/Mechanic

Overview: Are you an experienced Welder/Machinist/Mechanic seeking a dynamic and fulfilling position? This role offers an opportunity to showcase your skills in a supportive environment.

Primary Duties:

  • Set up and operate welding and cutting machinery.
  • Adhere to welding procedure standards to fulfill customer and contract requirements.
  • Execute additional tasks necessary to complete and fit components to specified customer standards, including pipe fitting and welding.
  • Plan and organize your work operations and setup methods based on welding procedures and work order specifications.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Maintain welding tools and materials in optimal condition.
  • Assist in the disassembly, evaluation, and reassembly of pump machinery as needed.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for colleagues during shift changes.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to the company's Quality Management initiatives.
  • Be prepared to work overtime when necessary.
  • Perform layouts and operate conventional machine tools as required.
  • Interpret all technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Develop setup methods where none are available.
  • Instruct fellow shop personnel on proper machining practices.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance methods for improved quality and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in cutting, welding, and fabricating various metal and alloy components.
  • Willingness to learn and successfully complete various welding certification assessments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, along with knowledge of welding materials, equipment settings, and basic mathematics.
  • Possession of basic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and appropriate safety gear as per facility standards.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Capability to maintain close tolerances and perform component inspections.
  • Experience in setting up machine tools: ID/OD Grinders, Turret Lathe, Engine Lathe, Horizontal Boring Mill, Vertical Boring Mill, Radial Drill, Planer Mill.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in machine shop operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Openness to working overtime as required.
