Job Overview

Position Title: Welder/Machinist/Mechanic

Overview: Are you an experienced Welder/Machinist/Mechanic seeking a fulfilling and dynamic position? This role is tailored for individuals who excel in metalworking and mechanical tasks.

Primary Duties:

  • Set up and operate various welding and cutting machinery.
  • Adhere to welding procedure standards to fulfill client and contract requirements.
  • Execute additional tasks necessary to complete and fit components to specified customer standards, including pipe fitting and welding.
  • Plan work operations and set-up methods based on welding protocols and work order specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
  • Ensure welding equipment and materials are well-maintained.
  • Assist in the disassembly, evaluation, and reassembly of pump systems as needed.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for colleagues during shift changes.
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to the company-wide Quality Management initiatives.
  • Be prepared to work overtime when necessary.
  • Perform layouts and operate conventional machining tools as required.
  • Interpret all technical drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Develop setup methods where none are available.
  • Guide other shop personnel on proper machining practices.
  • Continuously seek improvements to enhance quality while reducing costs.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in cutting, welding, and fabricating various metal and alloy components.
  • Capability to learn and successfully complete various welding certification examinations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, with knowledge of welding materials, equipment settings, and basic mathematics.
  • Possess essential hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and appropriate safety gear as per facility guidelines.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain tight tolerances and perform component inspections.
  • Experience in setting up machine tools such as ID/OD Grinders, Turret Lathes, Engine Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Boring Mills, Radial Drills, and Planer Mills.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in machine shop operations.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Openness to working overtime as needed.
