The Facility and Engineering Manager is responsible for the comprehensive supervision and oversight of facility operations and maintenance activities. This role is critical to ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency of all physical assets and infrastructure within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the facility and engineering team, providing direction, support, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the maintenance staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaboration.

Facility Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations of all facilities, ensuring they meet the organization's standards for functionality and safety.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support organizational goals and activities, ensuring that facility needs are met efficiently.

Maintenance Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise regular maintenance activities to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment and facilities.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Oversee the response to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely and effective resolution.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies and services, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to facility and maintenance operations.

Regulatory Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all facilities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.

Project Management:

  • Oversee capital projects related to facility improvements and expansions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance facility operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in facility management and maintenance.
  • Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and sustainability within the facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in facility management or engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and other relevant technology.
