Our client, a major manufacturer of Chemicals and Fertilizers, is seeking their Senior Manager of and Compliance and Counterparty Risk for commodities. This role will require Commodities Compliance Monitoring and Surveillance, trading monitoring, Counterparty risk, Vendor and customer onboarding and vetting. Trade position limits and adherence.

Ongoing surveillance of Business Unit activity with specific emphasis on regulatory requirements of physical and exchange market regulators such as CFTC, FIFRA (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act) EPA, OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) and FTC. Additional monitoring of trading activity for compliance with applicable Exchange-market regulatory requirements of NYMEX, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and other applicable exchange platforms.

He /she will work collaboratively with the operations teams along with Legal and Credit staff, to monitor and ensure compliance with internal Trading Guidelines and other internal compliance control requirements. Work with management to develop compliance goals and ongoing compliance initiatives. Train Operations and Trader on sanctions, Know Your Customer (KYC) customer acceptance policies and procedures. Customer identification program and customer due diligence, risk management and ongoing monitoring. Anti-Bribery and OFAC oversight.

Provide a day-to-day compliance monitoring function for the commodity trading unit to ensure compliance with all applicable trading and operational regulations. Monitor physical and financial trading activity to prevent and detect any non-compliant or abusive market behavior or operational practices. Will be responsible for ensuring that all deals are within the compliance standards with the insurance policies.

He / she will be responsible for all documentation which include but not limited to all pertinent contracts, non-disclosure agreements etc.

 

Requirements:

 

Candidate must have a 4-year degree in a relevant discipline. An advanced degree is a plus.

Strong Compliance experience and can think outside the box.

Experience with Material Safety Data Sheets-OSHA (MSDS Distribution) Hazard Materials experience.

8-16 years in a commodities firm with similar products.

Location: Greenwich, CT

Compensation: 175k-200k plus 25%-50% Bonus plus all benefits.
