The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist supports the implementation of health, safety, security, and environmental compliance initiatives in a manufacturing plant. This role involves collaborating with management, employees, and contractors.



Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct inspections to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and improve safety.
  • Manage health and safety programs (emergency response, training, occupational health, safety equipment, maintenance).
  • Respond to incidents and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with environmental programs and sample collection.
  • Manage hazardous waste and SDS records.
  • Develop visual aids and presentations for training.
  • Participate in ISO 14001 and 45001 audits.
  • Conduct training on best practices, hazards, and regulations.
  • Support second shift as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree required (safety science, environmental health and safety, or industrial hygiene preferred).
  • OSHA or similar EHS certification preferred.
  • 4+ years of EHS experience (2+ years in manufacturing preferred).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulations.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and safety data sheets.
  • Willingness to travel to other California locations.
