Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced leak detection equipment and techniques to identify leaks in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing components to pinpoint the source of leaks accurately.
- Collaborate with clients to gather information regarding potential leak incidents and assess the severity of the issue.
- Provide clear and detailed explanations of leak detection findings to clients, including recommended solutions and repair options.
- Execute precise repair procedures to fix leaks and restore plumbing systems to optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of leak detection activities, including findings, repairs performed, and materials used.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards to ensure the safety of oneself and others while conducting leak detection and repair tasks.
- Stay informed about advancements in leak detection technology and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
- Completes plumbing and other related in-home, service calls.
- Evaluates customer plumbing situation, develops multi-option proposals/estimates, presents to customers using the A-1/Groundworks Sales Methodology.
- Works with customers for thorough understanding of estimates
- Understands service criteria and is accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
- Performs recorded camera inspections.
- Diagnoses and repairs plumbing & piping systems and components in residential and commercial buildings
- Maintains tools, supplies and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items and equipment are in safe operating condition
- Prepares documentation for written support and conveys information appropriately
- Responds to emergency situations to resolve plumbing & piping issues
- Enforces a safety focused culture
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Knowledge of plumbing code and great craftsmanship required
· Ability to perform projects and service
· Proficient in piping domestic, sewer, gas, and hydronic systems with experience in copper (soldering, pro press, and brazing), PVC, cast iron, gas piping (black iron, Gastite CSST), and PEX
· Experience in boiler, chiller, and water heater replacement
· Proven experience as a Leak Detection Specialist or similar role in the plumbing industry.
· Proficiency in operating a variety of leak detection equipment, including acoustic listening devices, infrared cameras, and pressure testing tools.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues accurately.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
· Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and exceeding client expectations.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Certification or training in leak detection techniques and equipment operation is preferred.
· Excellent customer service skills/ability to interact with the public
· State-issued Journeyman or Master License is a plus
· High level of motivation and great work ethic
· Sales experience (preferred)
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
· Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
· Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language
· Operations of plumbing & piping systems and related equipment
· Comprehends technical information and blueprints
· Attention to detail.
· Must be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
· Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills.
· Must have an active driver license.
