Job Summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Boiler Operator to join our team at our facility in Ashland. As a Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial boilers and associated equipment. Your expertise will be utilized to monitor and inspect equipment, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions and ensure continuous and reliable operation of the boiler/powerhouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Monitor Boilers: Start, operate, and shut down boilers and auxiliary equipment. Monitor gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on boilers, pumps, valves, and other related equipment. Identify and troubleshoot issues to prevent breakdowns.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations. Conduct safety checks and ensure all equipment is operating within safety standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents. Prepare reports as required.
  • Water Treatment: Monitor and adjust water treatment systems to ensure proper water quality and prevent scaling and corrosion.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively. Implement corrective actions to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, engineers, and management to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in boiler operation is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in operating and maintaining industrial boilers.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Certifications: Boiler Operator License or certification as required by local regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
